Finalists in 14 categories have been named ahead of the awards ceremony, which is expected to be attended by 500 people on Thursday 21 November at University of Wolverhampton at the Halls.

The awards shortlistings recognise Bowers & Jones for excelling as an international exporter and making an outstanding contribution in the manufacturing sector. The Business of the Year award acknowledges the company’s consistent revenue growth and profitability, innovative products and services, positive workplace culture, high customer satisfaction levels and strategic vision.

Bowers & Jones Managing Director Jane Sommerville said: “We are thrilled to be recognised for our innovation, excellence and commitment to quality with these three finalist placings. Bowers & Jones is proud to represent the Black Country, so it means a lot to be recognised by our local Chamber.

“Our shortlisting at these awards is testament to the exceptional efforts of our hardworking and loyal team, so we are very grateful for their contribution. We look forward to celebrating our success with other leading local businesses at the awards ceremony in November.”

Serving more than 300 customers across the UK, North America, Europe and beyond, Bowers & Jones is a world leader in the design, manufacture and refurbishment of roll tooling and rolling mill products.

The business specialises in the manufacture of tools used to roll long products such as welded and seamless tube and pipe, steel sections and complex copper extrusions. More recently, rolls are used in the manufacture of non-steel applications including electrical conduction and heating cable.

Originally established in 1955, Bowers & Jones was acquired by Jane Sommerville and Nicola Owen in 2020 and is growing on the back of four years of turnover growth, with significant growth set to continue with new contracts secured in the USA.
